Parts Department
Continued....
Initially our parts listing will be broken down into segments
beginning with Alpha Numeric part numbers (example: AM-62) and
continuing through the 9000 series part numbers used by MPC and LTI.
You may find a sprinkling of American Flyer parts, especially wide
gauge, although our primary focus is that of original Lionel
production parts. We realize that some items are in extremely short
supply; are just no longer available anywhere or extremely expensive
when available. In this case we list both original as well as
reproduction parts for your use.
As part of the redesign of our website, we are converting our early
(1980's) IBM database to an active one. The more than 20,000 part
numbers we have listed are in the process of being converted to an
active database, which will indicate (hopefully) to you what is in
stock on a given date. This is not a simple task, and we encourage
you to "Contact
Us! If there is something you need but it is not
listed.
Beware of the repair manuals prepared by third parties such as
K-line, Greenberg and others, and most especially parts indexes
created by some part dealers. Many times these small manuals are
shortened versions of Lionel's original manuals and omit important
detail or contain errors. We have seen many part dealers create
incorrect part numbers for parts for no other reason than they were
unwilling to do the necessary research to determine the correct
number assigned by Lionel.
If you are trying to perform a repair and are unsure of exactly what
you are looking for, we can provide the manual pages and the
expertise to assist you in locating exactly what you need. Some
items are scarcer than others, such as plastic parts and cabs in
conditions of C-7 and above. If you seek these types of items,
please send us an inquiry before ordering.
Let's move on to how you can locate and order the parts you need.
